WORK PERMIT STATUS

Permanent residence can be applied for in Namibia after a person has had ten years of legal status in the country. There are several applications that fall under permanent residence. Legal status of 10 years means either you have been on a work permit for ten years, you have been married and have your Certificate of Identity for 10 years or you have been on a study permit or temporary residence permit for 10 years. Another application is also by naturalisation.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Application form (3-1/0039)
  • Application for Visa form (3-1/0033)
  • Questionnaire form for permanent residence
  • Declaration Form
  • Medical certificate
  • Radiological certificate
  • Copy of marriage/divorce/death certificate or letters
  • Copy of travel document or passport
  • Copy of birth certificate
  • Two passport photos
  • Original police clearance from country of origin (certified copy is not accepted)
  • Highest educational and training certificates
  • Detailed CV
  • Copies of Financial Statements (Two years)
  • Proof of sufficient funds available to maintain yourself while residing in Namibia. Either a bank guarantee or letter from guardian/family member supporting the application
  • If a pensioner, proof of pension to be submitted
  • In the case of minors, letter from the relevant institute of learning
  • Written consent from both parents for applicants under 21
  • Deed of surety
  • Namibian Police Clearance     (certified copy is not accepted)
  • Power of attorney granting Fishmar t/a Intergate Namibia Immigration to act on your behalf

TIME FRAME: 180 days from date of application
